The weather has been terrible this year.
It hasn’t been extremely cold, and we haven’t gotten as much snow as in past years, but the winds. Practically every night, I lay there listening to the wind whistle between the buildings. We have had our dramatic ups and downs in temp. Yesterday was in the 50’s. Today is suppose to be in the teens. The warmness of the weather had me slightly concerned about a tornado touchdown.
I am always surprised by the dramatic turn the weather can take. Yesterday, it rained all day. There was a chance of thunderstorms. When Dan and I got home, the lightening and thunder started up. I let Nikki out really quick, and went to the library while Dan put away the groceries. I told Dan I thought it was raining really hard. He couldn’t hear it. He didn’t believe me. I insisted it was raining really hard and Nikki would want to come in. I asked him to check on Nikki anyway. He calls to me, “Oh, you are right!”
Later in the evening, I let Nikki out for her final evening constitution. I opened the door and hear the cracking of the thin layer of ice. It was snowing. Wonderful. Of course, it didn’t even snow enough to cover the ground, but with all the rain we had, there is the danger of ice now.
Oh, and today Dan links me a news article that says we may have had a possible touchdown on the Indianapolis Northwest side. The side I live on. In fact, pretty close to our house.
I have a feeling it will be an interesting spring.
Appropos of nothing, I love that song…
Oy.
“this year”?
It’s only about a month old…
These posts make me so happy I don’t deal with that crap any more. While it may be a bot nippy (got down into the thrities yesterday and a huge wind chill) NO SNOW is good for me! Oh and just an insider’s tip…weathermen don’t know what the hell they are doing. They are simply the anchor rejects.
Thanks for scaring up the memories…
I feel ya, it was in the sixties a few weeks ago, then down in the single digits, now it’s up again. I can’t remember a winter with such erratic weather.
