So apparently, it happened this morning. It’s all over the news. It the first thing my co-workers talked about. “Where were you?” my coworker asked me and another who walked in the door. “Probably in bed, she says.”
The other coworker replies. She said he wasn’t in bed, because she gets up at 5:30 a.m. I guess her dogs went crazy though. Then the coworker turns to me. I look her dead on and say, “I don’t know what you are talking about.”
“We had an EARTHQUAKE this morning!? Didn’t you feel it? It was a 5.2.”
“Ppphpt. A 5.2 isn’t even worth waking up for,” I replied to her. “I’m from California!”
Yes, I slept through the earthquake. Dan did too. Our animals, who normally aren’t phased if we are calm, didn’t wake us up. Nikki didn’t bark.
The funny thing is not two days ago, I was thinking about some of those good, small earthquakes I have been in. I thought to myself that even after all these years in Indiana, I think I still would rather deal with the earthquake than a tornado. And here we have one…and I miss it.
A 5.2. That isn’t even worth waking up for.
Why have I not heard of this?
I don’t know. It’s a top story on Google News.
LOL so for California stats that was just a jitter, right?
A buddy of mine just called and said he felt it this morning in SE Iowa. I think he probably just farted in bed.
Shoot- missing an earthquake is probably a blessing.
Missing a tornado, that would be disastrous.
Apparently it was noticeable all the way up here in Michigan.
My mom says she woke up when it happened, but I slept through the whole thing.
I heard there was an aftershock later that morning around 11:30… and I was awake then, but still didn’t feel a thing.
Sigh.
Maybe I need to move to California.
If I hurry, I can get there before the whole state drops off into the ocean.
nothing is worth waking up that early. Maybe a powerball win…maybe.
It was all over the news here in Vegas and I couldn’t believe it was such a big deal. I mean, there are fault lines everywhere in this country. We had small earthquakes in Ohio all the time. Guess since they don’t happen often in that area there are big news. The funniest video we had was of all the news people sitting at shaking news desks and freaking out.
