Yesterday, I found out that I won’t be working by mid-summer. My job is being moved to a new location. That’s all I am going to say about that right now, though.
This morning, I went let Nikki out. Suddenly, Brutus dived into the blinds as I was opening them. When I got the blinds open, there was a chicken staring in at us. A CHICKEN! I said, “HOLY CRAP, there’s a CHICKEN outside!” Dan didn’t hear me. But I took pictures. Interesting thing is, I know the some of our neighbors have reported the chicken neighbors for having chickens. But oh, well. No skin off my nose.
Yesterday I bought plane tickets. Dan and I are flying one-way to California to buy a car from my parents. It’s a car I have really liked and it’s in good condition. We plan to drive it back to Indiana. My folks sent the car to their mechanic, an old friend, who replaced the timing chain and said it was in good working order.
From California, which we will probably leave less than 24 hours after we get there, we will drive to Colorado. We originally planned to go through Las Vegas, cause I want to see that city one day, but it is two hour extra, so we might just go the shorter way. We will stay in Colorado a few days. It is a place we have thought about moving to, so we really want to check it out.
From Colorado, we will drive to Indiana again.
Dan and I did this road trip before, when we moved to Indiana. We didn’t make the Colorado stop along the way, but it is a trip we had always said we wanted to take again. I don’t know if we will go back home through Nebraska and Iowa this time, but we have both been looking forward to it. The best part is that this time, we won’t be driving with two cats, so we will have a little more freedom in that regard.
Depsite the job stuff, we are still taking this trip. I asked my boss about my time off and she asked if I still wanted to take it. I said, “Sure I do! I bought my plane tickets!”
I’ve heard that there is Nothing in Iowa.
I don’t know whether to day I’m sorry you lost or job or congratulations. Either way, onward and upward!
Changes are a comin’.
Midwest job loss is alive and not-so-well…. My wife started a new full-time job Monday, after her last full time job was moved out of state last year. You are young yet, and you might as well explore a little to see where you’d like to live and work in the near future… Good Luck!
So. There’s no chance that you’ll be stopping by Minnesota?
wow thats quite a trip!!!
Sorry about the job, that sucks!
Sorry about the job news Lynda. I hope the trip will be rewarding, and the car trouble-free!
Ah little one, any day that starts out with a chicken looking in your window has got to be an adventurous one, right?
Sounds good!
I can’t believe about your job. Any prospects for something new?
And hello? You are NOT going to stop in Vegas? You have to come through here because then we could get together!! Although I understand about it being two hours out of your way and all, but how cool would that be to meet up!!
I wish VA was along the way! Have a good road trip.
Nobody - I have heard that too! We may be going that way. I am not sure yet.
Finn - I view it as a positive thing.
*pixie* - They are indeed!
buffalodickdy - Life is the greatest adventure of all!
Shelli - Minnesota may be a bit high for this trip.
Mel - When we moved across country, we did the same thing. We always talked about doing it again. This time, there will be no cats.
Sans - Me too!
Nanna - Remind me to tell you about the squirrel. hehe
Shades - It’s all good!
VP - We haven’t decided yet. I would like to go through, just to see it at least!
BlondeBlogger - I am going to hazard to guess that VA is even more out of the way then Minnesota.
